Balboa...Rendezvous, 1944
Three young boys have their early evening bike ride interupted by the roar of two Corsairs flying low over the Pacific coast line, near Los Angeles. The Corsairs may be fresh off the assembly line and out on a test hop or they may be from a nearby training base. These boys will no doubt be influenced by the glorious aircraft they see and the exploits of the young men - not much more than boys themselves - who fly them.

While dad checks under the hood on a highway turn-out 200 feet above a coastal cloud layer, son takes a bead on the lead aircraft. The thunderous jet age has arrived!
