The Bell XP-59 is America's first jet aircraft. It was often fitted with a mock propeller while on the ground to disquise its true purpose.  Its performance was less than the top propeller driven aircraft of the day, and much sleeker jets would soon follow, but the XP-59A was America's first step in transitioning to jet power.

This print is signed by Lt. Gen. Laurence "Bill" Craigie, America's first military jet pilot.
