RIVETING IMAGES Presents

The B-36 Peacemaker was as long as a B-29 and a B-17 placed nose to tail. Its wingspan was equal to two B-24s parked side-by-side. Its tail was as tall as a B-25 placed on its nose. It had 6 piston engines and four jet engines. It could fly at 43,000 feet at 418 mph. With its crew of 16 and a full load, it weighed 410,000 pounds. Like so many other aircraft of the post-war period, rapidly evolving technologies meant the mighty B-36 would enjoy only a brief operational period. The last Peacemaker was retired in 1959 and, of the 325 built, only four survive.

This print is signed by retired Convair test pilot Beryl Erickson.
