Guardians of the Atlantic Wall
It's a summer day in 1943 and four Luftwaffe FW190-A5s from 9/JG2, the "Richtofen Jagdgeschwader", patrol the beach at Normandy's Mont St. Michel on the French Coast. The threat they are guarding against won't be found - at least not today.

Enduring Eddie
Boeing test pilot Edmund T. Allen died trying to nurse the burning B-29 prototype back to base so the cause of the problem could be determined. In his honor the employees of Boeing's Wichita plant paid for a B-29 through donations and gave it to the USAAF. The B-29 "Eddie Allen" lived up to its name, flying 24 combat missions before being damaged so badly it barely made it back to its Tinian Island base. The aircraft never flew again.

Belle...Homeward Bound
Who can say what emotions Capt. Robert Morgan and his crew felt as they climbed out over the English country-side for the last time on June 9th, 1943. Having completed their 25th combat mission the month before, they were not on their way to Germany, rather, the 'Belle and her crew were going home to begin a two month War Bond tour. The Memphis Belle became a household name and is now restored and preserved in Memphis, Tennessee.
