Late November 1941, Clark Field, Philippine Islands...The U.S. Army Air Corps prepares for days of infamy ahead. Meagerly-equipped crews of the 19th Bomb Group prepare their B-17s for the day's practice missions, unaware that in mere days, Clark Field and other nearby U.S. bases would be savaged by enemy surprise attacks. Many would be taken prisoner, and some of those shown here, such as Colin Kelly and Jarl Pease, would gain tragic fame.

The following American airmen, all veterans of the Philippines in the earliest days of WWII, have signed some or all of these lithographs:
Robert E. Altman - Radio Operator in Colin Kelly's airplane.
Robert Phillips - Crew Chief, B-17 and other A/C, Flight Engineer
Edward M. Jacquet - B-17 Copilot, 47 combat missions with the 19th BG
John A. Wallach - B-17, later part of "Swoose" crew and fighter pilot
Melvin A. McKenzie - B-17 Copilot and Navigator
Edward Jackfert - B-18 Crew Chief during first attack on Clark Field
