Blackjack's New Scouts When Pancho Villa and his army of 500 attacked the border town of Columbus, New Mexico, in March 1916, General John
"Blackjack" Pershing and the U.S. Army were sent in to capture him. Pershing utilized eight Curtiss JN-2s of the First Aero Squadron as scouts, but the aircraft were not suited for the mission and harsh
operating conditions. The aircraft only logged a combined total of 400 hours and failed to perform the duty they had been assigned. L/E of 750, S/N by James Dietz 31-3/4" x 22-3/4" $125.00
