The well known "Rosie the Riveter" from World War II is the subject of this watercolor portrait. It shows one of the many women who took up the slack in America's aircraft factories during the War working on a P-38 Lightning. This painting was entered in the Simuflite/Flying Magazine annual aviation art contest in the Fall of 2001. The result: Winner of the AWAM award.

My grandmother, Elsie Fores, was a "Rosie", helping the fight by building B-24 tails. It is to my grandmother that I dedicate this page.
