January 15 1945 Major Clarence E "Bud" Anderson and Captain Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager finish their WW II combat tours together. Their mission started as airborne spares but turned into an unauthorized free-wheeling escapade, "Skimming over the Alps" of Switzerland and Southern France. Meanwhile, unknown to them, their fellow 357th Fighter Group pilots were having the biggest day in the units history, claiming over 56 aerial victories. Both member of the 363rd Fighter Squadron, Anderson was credited with 16.25 confirmed aerial victories and Yeager downed 11.5 at wars end.
